Density measurement has been released for iOS devices as part of a new update, available in the Apple App Store.
Overall, the density measurement gives users the possibility to calculate the real volume of pulp-and fuelwood piles (also called solid volume). The functionality gives users the pile density coefficient/ratio from the whole or the selected area of the pile, showing how much timber is in the pile without the bark and the air. It also provides volume calculation, number of logs, individual diameter of the logs and the possibility to view diameter distribution. There’s also a possibility to calculate the air filling factor without a reference – users simply need to make the picture and instantly get the result.
Density functionality is important, as it helps to assess the pile density coefficient/ratio in a correct and objective way and also provides digital proof. In many parts of the world, pulp-and fuelwood measurement is still based on visual observation that leaves a lot of room for subjectivity and may cause disagreements between parties. With Timbeter, the pulp-and fuelwood measurement is always done in an objective way, by Artificial Intelligence based detection algorithms.
