Timbeter in 2018 – new markets, improved detection, more users
The year 2018 is nearly finished and it is time to look back to see what has been achieved. Timbeter’s customer number continues to grow and we’ve reached more than 20,000 downloads this year. We are thrilled that our user activity doubled – in total, we measured more than 3.5 million cubic meters this year. We welcomed new customers from Spain, Italy, Japan and Thailand. Plus, we increased our customer-support team by 100%.

Firstly, a big thank you to all our clients, cooperation partners, friends and supporters: it is a pleasure to work with you!

Hereby are the key successes Timbeter achieved during 2018.

#1 Expanded our customer portfolio in  Latin-America, South-East Asia and Russia

We welcomed clients from new countries including Ecuador, Argentina and Thailand. We continued to grow within the Brazilian and Russian markets. It was a great honour to start working with International Paper from Brazil and Siam Forestry Group in Thailand.

#2 Improved detection via neural networks

Our development team continued working on improving the detection. Our goal was to be able to detect logs in the worst conditions. Adding neural networks made it possible to make new improvеments in the detection side step-by-step.

#3 Welcomed first clients from Japan

We already started exploring the Japanese market last year but this year we made Timbeter available in Japanese and welcomed Hazuki to our team as Japanese client-support. The feedback has been really encouraging as one of the Japanese customers told “The more I explore Timbeter, the more improved it seems to be. Usually, European companies don’t pay so much attention to the details as Japanese do but this is different in Timbeter’s case.”

 #4  Added new reporting features

Our goal is not only to save our customers time but also to save them from loads of excel spreadsheets and minimize their paperwork. Thus, we developed new features for reporting that aids companies to gather important data.

#5 Expanded to new markets, introduced new languages

Timbeter has now more than 20,000 downloads, from 65 countries around the world. From a client-support perspective, we are thrilled to announce that we able to provide onboarding help and customer support now in 10 languages: English, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Swedish, Polish, Latvian, Italian and Estonian.

#6 Doubled the customer-support team

Our team continued to grow in 2018: we doubled the team of sales and customer-support for growth and to understand and supply new markets. We are excited to now have six different nationalities on our team: ready to serve customers across the world.

#7 Participated in numerous events around the world

ForestTECHX in Canada, Expoforest 2018 in Brazil, Carrefour du Bois and Euroforest in France, Innovatek in New-Zealand and Australia, Lesprom IT and Lesdrevmash in Russia, Timber Expo in UK and 9th Congress of Sawmill Industry of South-East Europe in Croatia – we attended all these events and happily presented Timbeter to new audiences; including sawmill owners, forestry engineers, university students, pulpwood companies and forestry associations.

Our clients around the world have proven that implementing Timbeter speeds up the processes and enable much better control.
Julio Tobar, chief of projects and studies at Mininco says: “Timbeter has the potential to measure our production, on a timely and trustworthy way and contribute naturally to digitalize our business.”
Companies spend less manpower to get accurate measurements, less time on solving disagreements and less time on paperwork. Plus, companies have a clear overview of the timber in the forest, managers have needed information for logistics planning, and each log ends up in a production facility that maximizes the value of it.

Thank you, everyone, for the exciting 2018, we cannot wait until 2019!
