The project is an alliance between the governments of Estonia and Costa Rica. It is being implemented locally in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE), the National Center of Geoenvironmental Information (CENIGA), the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), the National Forestry Office (ONF), and the Estonian technology startup Timbeter.

Goal of the project
The project aims to transfer knowledge in terms of digitization and implementation of digital government solutions. The government of Costa Rica, through their Ministry of Environment and Energy, will explore opportunities to integrate Timbeter’s Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and cloud technology to support their efforts and investments in monitoring and controlling the forestry sector. By simplifying data exchange between the government and companies, the target is to reduce administrative burden and bring more efficiency and transparency to sustainable forest management.

Who can participate in the Project?
Forestry companies (working to supply the local and international market), sawmills, lumber producers, organizations that work with the forestry sector, Forest Regents (Forest Engineers), academics, NGOs, public-private organizations, consultants, that work in Costa Rica or have operations in the country.
What do I get as part of the project?
You can use Timbeter’s solutions free of charge during the project, as well as participate in the activities organized by the project, and get technical support from Timbeter’s Customer Support team.
How many measurements can I do during the project?
Unlimited number of measurements
How many devices can my company register?
Per company up to 10 devices
How many users can I create in Timbeter’s Web platform (Storage Module)?
The amount of users in Timbeter’s Storage Module (for sharing information within your organization with different departments, etc) is unlimited. Inside the platform you can assign different roles to the users. If you want more information, please contact our support team at info@timbeter.com.
How much does it cost to participate in the project?
It is free to participate in the project.
Do I need to buy a special equipment to use Timbeter’s Artificial Intelligence?
No, only mobile phone with 8 Mega pixel camera.
Is Timbeter being used in other countries in Latin America?

Can you measure timber species that have an irregular shape like teak, gmelina, etc?
