Timbeter’s solution for accurate digital measurement of timber was introduced in the “North Central State Enterprise” Gabrovo State Enterprise and also demonstrated to directors and foresters at South Central State Forest Enterprise and Southwestern State Forest Enterprise, which was additionally attended by members from Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forests and from Regional Forest Directorates.
The demonstration was attended by members of the board of directors of the Center, employees of the company and representatives of the private companies. Among those present were representatives of the Northeastern State Enterprise State Enterprise, the Northwestern State Enterprise State Enterprise, as well as the Regional Forest Directorates in Lovech and Veliko Tarnovo.
Braien Kasser, a representative of Timbeter and Sigurd Ole Ruud, a representative of the International Development Organization Norway, demonstrated its capabilities in the field, for which purpose three timber production sites were visited. The application was tested in three different situations – to measure wood in a pile, stacked, and loaded on different trucks, with different arrangements.
As TIMBETER solution works on the basis of AI devices and provides the possibility for accurate digital measurement of wood in stock and loaded on a vehicle by taking photographs, as well as for managing the received information, the demonstration clearly showed how the process of measurement and data exchange can be sped up. In addition, it can help improve control and achieve more transparency in logging management, as all information from it can be transferred to control bodies such as the NRA and others.
